Golden Eye
antique market
Van Buren County

I think this will be my last photo from the outdoor antique emporium that was closed when I visited last week. Along with Mother Mary, this sweet thing kept her golden eye on me.

The antique market was closed, so I wandered with my camera under Mother Mary's watchful eye, lest I take more than photos.

Happy Mother's Day.

You can see they had everything, including the bathroom sink, at this outdoor antique wonderland. Closed? No worries, I snapped away.

in the coop

Here are the White Crested Black Polish and the Golden Pencil Hamburg (we think) getting a preview of the chicken coop Mr. Flying prepared for them and their 32 pals.

Thank you for your wishes for safe keeping. They survived 3 nights in their new home! Next stage will be in another few days when they will be let out into the chicken yard. Then hawks become the predators to worry about.

four weeks old
White Crested Black Polish

Mr. Flying moved the 34 four-week-old 'chicks' from the brooder into the barn's chicken coop on the weekend. They went from a 5' square brooder box to a 25' x 15' coop with windows, ledges, and a roosting area. They looked a little lost in there, and now we pray that Mr. Flying has amply sealed and protected against weasels, raccoons, rats and the elegant huntress barn cat Bishop. We were tempted to sleep out there with them last night.

I'll let you know how they fared the night . . .

robin's egg blue

As Mr. Flying repaired the barn corner for a coop for the chickens he watched Mr. & Mrs. Robin build this nest in the lilac that hugs the barn.

Sunday we got out the step stool and looked inside.

Robin's egg blue is my favorite color.
