ameraucana chicks

Let me introduce you to two more chickens Mr. Flying has brought to the farm. He now has 43 ornamental chicken chicks, meaning he is raising them (free range, of course) for their beauty (and photos) and for the eggs; he also has 17 quail chicks. The various breeds will share their eggs with us (I hope they don't mind) of a variety of colors: blue, green, pink, light brown and dark brown. This breed alone lays different colored eggs, something I don't understand.

When they arrived in a box from the farm store, I had a little studio set up and asked Mr. Flying to please prepare them for their first photo op. These were especially docile. His quail chicks, on the other hand, are hoppers, jumpers, and runners, impossible to get in the frame without blur.
