gold threads

This old bedroom chair belonged to my mother's step-mother, whom we called 'Aunt Edith,' a woman who filled her home with fine material things. Now, long after she's gone, we keep the chair in our bedroom by the window, where the afternoon light continues its job fading it. To me, now it is really fine.
