![]() Innisfallen monastery Killarney National Park, County Kerry, Ireland This monastery was built by St. Finian the Leper in the 7th century. It's on Innisfallen Island in Lough Leane (Lower Lake, and which means 'Lake of Learning'). During its 700 year occupation, the Annals of Innisfallen were written, now housed in the Bodleian Library at Oxford (white gloves only).
