![]() line dance wooden shoe dancers, Tulip Time festival, Holland, Michigan Everywhere you look at Tulip Time you see little ones dressed in authentic Dutch costumes. Here you can see some of the thousand or so wooden shoe dancers lined up in pairs on 8th Street. In this scene the 'boys' are on this side in their black pants. The 'girls' are on the other side in their regional dresses. Most of the dancers are female, as you can see. In this particular setting, unlike yesterday's of high schoolers, there is a mix of younger and older dancers . . and this little one who wants to join them! Even my sister-in-law, who is 100% Dutch, dances with her daughter. My sister-in-law is almost 60, and she still does a pretty high kick! By the way, in 1948 she came over as a stowaway from the Netherlands in her mother's womb. Posted by Flying | Comment (16) Category: People, Places, Color | |
