 Zebra Mussel Lake Michigan beach, Onekama This zebra mussel is one of an invasive species threatening native aquatic life in the Great Lakes, costing the economy billions of dollars. One positive note: a Wisconsin company is developing an adhesvie for heart surgery based on the natural adhesive mussels use to stick to things under water.
